Blog Topic #13: What inspires you?

Let me just say that this may be my favorite of all the blog topics that I will or have posted.
What inspires me? Two people: Wes Anderson and  Hayao Miyazaki.

I grew up watching studio ghibli films as a child. Unlike many disney films or pixar films these movies did not always have a happy ending. Sometimes it taught a lesson, and others it would bring the elegance of something far more heartfelt.

Wes Anderson films have a similar feeling. The human condition, and how emotions and feelings as a child into adulthood sometimes stay the same.

But what make these so inspiring is the the animation and the beautiful symmetry in the way the stories are being told.

Blog Topic #14: What's the difference between UI and UX?

What is UI?

UI stands for User interface and has to do with  "machines and software, such as computers, home appliances, mobile devices, and other electronic devices, with the focus on maximizing usability and the user experience."-Wikipedia

In other words this applies more to the back end of design with more technical application.

What is UX?

UX is "the process of enhancing user satisfaction with a product by improving the usability, accessibility, and pleasure provided in the interaction with the product."-Wikipedia

In other words it is what the user physically sees and experiences while using the site.

What do UI and UX designers do?

UI designers are responsible for how the site or platform looks and feels
UX is more of the process of research, testing, development, content, and prototyping to test for quality results. So basically UX is more of the bones of the vesicle making sure that everything works correctly.

Blog Topic #5

On blogger it seems like you can customize just  about every aspect of the blog website. That being said you are able to add custom css to the page as well. The only downside is that when choosing an image to put as a background one has to choose an image with less than 300k. On m site I edited the font used for the headers, and body text. in addition I also changes the colors for links and any other information to a shade of orange.

Blog Topic #4: What is RSS?

With ever changing content on the websites, like blogs RSS is used to organize their content on an organized fashion.

So that is RSS? RSS stands for Rich Site Summary.  "It allows you to easily stay informed by retrieving the latest content from the sites you are interested in. You save time by not needing to visit each site individually. You ensure your privacy, by not needing to join each site's email newsletter. The number of sites offering RSS feeds is growing rapidly and includes big names like Yahoo News."-http://www.whatisrss.com/

To use RSS to be updated on information on fellow students it makes it  easy to be notified when your website you are subscribed to has posted new content.

What is an aggregation? An aggregation is a feed reader, and by having one installed onto the website it allows those subscribed of new content.

Why is this not as popular as it was before? Many think popular websites like  Twitter, Facebook, Instagram do a better job of keeping the user informed on the latest content.

Blog topic #1:color wheel

There is nothing more attractive to contrast of color or complementary color. Adobe color is one of the websites I frequent all the time. It has become a very useful tool to help me choose great colors. Unlike a normal color wheel, this website gives you some easy tools like : analogous, monochromatic, triad, complementary, compound, shades and an own custom setting.

What makes it better and different than other color websites is that it gives you all the color information and in addition  has a large sample color schemes library. I'm guessing that they are using their own program and probably dreamweaver, since this is an adobe product page. https://color.adobe.com
